Our volunteers are the heart and soul of ROG and we would not be able to continue the good work we do without their dedication, compassion, kindness, patience and generosity. At the end of what has felt like a very long term, we felt it was an important opportunity to thank them for all their hard work with a delicious Christmas Buffet which was also attended by the staff and Trustees at the Sun Inn, in Romsey. Our Volunteers crucial to the success of ROG and we are grateful for them all. Merry Christmas, everyone!
Read moreWe are so lucky to be supported by and work closely alongside Dutton Gregory Solicitors. They are hugely generous in supporting us financially and this year, once again, money they donated was used to fund trips to Hilliers Light Up Trail for our families. The event has been a huge success and an enjoyable experience for everyone! Ten of our families visited the trail over the Christmas period, which has been a huge hit with every child that has been able to attend. We have absolutely loved seeing photos and videos of the children and families having such a fantastic time. Thank you Hilliers and thank you Dutton Gregory!
Read moreYin Yin, our local Minister from The Romsey Abbey came to visit us and spent time reading the nativity story to the children. The children thoroughly enjoyed listening to the story and we taught her some Makaton signs for some of the parts of the story. It was lovely to welcome her to spend some time at ROG and we look forward to seeing her back again soon.
Read moreWe are delighted to welcome Lauren as our new Deputy Manager and Administrator. Lauren brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her role, and we think she is going to be a brilliant addition to the ROG family. She has always lived in Romsey and is Mum to 4 lovely children. She first heard about ROG when she attended the group with her own Son around 11 years ago.
Read moreIn November, we had a stall at The Charities Christmas Fair. This was held at the Crosfield Hall, and we raised an incredible £237! A big thank you to everyone that created and donated such lovely things for us to sell on the stall and to the Volunteers who helped to man the stall on the day. Also, thank you to Caroline Wheatley who donated our incredible tablecloth which looked absolutely brilliant at the event! We were delighted at the great success of this event!

Read moreThe staff, volunteers and trustees of ROG were devastated to learn that one of our precious children, Grayson, was sadly taken to live with the stars before we were ready to say goodbye. His passing left a huge hole in the ROG family, and we chose to mark the special place he had in our hearts with a Memorial.

Read moreI am so excited to be the new Manager of Romsey Opportunity Group. I have lived in Romsey for 11 years. I am married, have 2 boys, aged 13 and 3 and have a King Charles Cavalier, named Max. I qualified as a teacher 20 years ago, spending most of my teaching career in Early Years and have also worked for 8 years in Compliance. I love walking, cooking, musical theatre, crafting and spending time with friends and family. I am looking forward to getting to know the ROG community over the next few months.
